Workflow basics

Build a simple drip or follow-up workflow with triggers, delays, and email steps.

  1. From the sidebar, choose Automation, then Workflows. Click New workflow and give it a clear name like 'New trial — 5 day onboarding'.

  2. Triggers decide who enters the workflow. Common triggers: Contact added to segment, Tag applied, Form submitted, Email replied, or Manual enrollment. Each contact enrolls once unless you allow re-entry.

  3. Drag steps from the toolbox: Send email (pick a template or generate with AI), Wait (e.g. 2 days), Condition (branch on tag, open, click, or reply). You can mix and match — most onboarding sequences are 3–5 steps.

  4. In workflow settings, configure quiet hours (e.g. no sends 9pm–7am), max emails per day, and which mailbox to use. This protects your sender reputation and your subscribers.

  5. Use Test enroll with your own email to walk through the whole flow on a sped-up timer. When it looks good, flip the workflow to Active and contacts will start enrolling automatically.

  6. Open the workflow's Runs tab to see who's currently in each step, completion rates, and any failed sends. Pause anytime — in-flight contacts resume from where they left off when you re-enable it.
